Tea Party with a CEO - A Motivational Story about Money

Everyone likes wealth, but who does wealth like? We are going to hear a story that answers this question.

This is a story about a rich man who is considered lucky by everyone. But that "lucky" man will reveal the real secrets of wealth here. It will be interesting.

Thanks for coming back to Apple Box. And you are going to read a conceptual fiction written by Sabari Paramasivan.

There was a famous food product company in a city. Every year, they organized a big contest. That contest was arranged every December. As part of that, a question would be printed on the packets of their product, and it would be well advertised. People from the city had to write their answers to that question in a letter and send it along with the contest wrapper.

What happens next? The company would collect all the responses received throughout the month of December. They would compile those answers and send them to a selected group of people for review. And a winner would be selected. Those winners of the contest got a rare chance — they got to meet the main face behind the company’s success — the CEO — in a lavish one-to-one hi-tea party.

The man whom everyone called… the richest and most talented.

Many people took great interest in it and participated in the contest happily. That year also, the contest was announced. This time, the question asked on the wrapper was, “What is the reason for our company’s success?”

Everyone wrote their answers and sent them. Almost everyone wrote similar answers — reasons like hard work, marketing, sincerity of the workers, etc. But only one person wrote a very different answer. He wrote that “luck is the reason for your wealth.”

If you were the company’s CEO and happened to read such an answer, you would be infuriated. But the company’s CEO selected him as a finalist.

The name of the person was Sugandhan. Basically, Sugandhan didn’t like rich people. He believed that they all lived comfortable lives. He believed that they were all lucky, and that’s how they got that kind of life. So, he wrote such an answer in his letter.

But he felt happy when the committee selected him as the winner.

On the day of the hi-tea, he went to meet the CEO. The party took place in the house of the CEO. The arrangement was made in a rooftop garden, and it was so ornamental. Sugandhan was welcomed by a manager and was taken to that special area. He was asked to wait there.

And he waited to meet the rich man for the first time in his life. Within five minutes, both came face to face.

The next minute, the rich man asked Sugandhan, “Why did you say that luck is the reason for my success?”

Sugandhan replied, “I know you, sir. Your grandfather was a rich man. Your father was a rich man too. Your brother and mother were also into business. Then suddenly, you became a businessman. Isn’t it luck? That’s why I said — luck is the reason for your success and your company’s success.”

At first, the rich man didn’t respond. Then he took out a beautifully wrapped gift. He placed three newspaper cuttings above it. And then he said, “Sugandhan, please read the newspapers, and then open the gift.”

So, Sugandhan looked at the newspaper cuttings roughly.

The first newspaper told about a murder that took place on a ship a few years ago. The second newspaper told about a lottery win. And the third newspaper told about a woman who died in a restaurant.

Sugandhan didn’t understand the meaning. So, he continued reading the news in detail.

The first news elaborated like this: Some years ago, there was a group of wealthy traders. They all made good trade and earned enormous money. They sailed with those goods to Arab countries, purchased a lot of gold and ornaments out of the profits they made, and traveled back.

But during their return on a ship, robbers entered their vessel. They tried snatching the gold and ornaments that the rich people had in their hands. But the captain of the ship was very wise and he sent a warning to the guard ship. He also alerted all the businessmen in sign language, “Guards are coming. So stay calm during this attack. Don’t panic, we will be saved shortly.”

Many stayed calm after knowing this. But one businessman ignored the warning. He panicked, pushed, and argued with the robbers. So, the robbers attacked him and killed him. Yes, he died.

But shortly — just after 2 minutes of his tragic death — the guard ship arrived and arrested the robbers. But that man died in haste, and the money he carried was also never returned to his family, as the amount was unknown.

The second newspaper said this: Once there was a young man, just 18 years old. He won a huge sum of money in a lottery. Initially, he started a business but wasn’t able to concentrate on it, because his pleasure was buying and checking lottery tickets. Finally, he lost all his money in a lottery and went into mental depression. He never recovered.

The third newspaper said this: Once there was a 40-year-old woman who started a diner after her family’s financial crisis. The diner functioned 24 hours a day, while other shops on the same street closed by 9:00 PM. Her business grew rapidly.

She was so determined to succeed that she never rested, sleeping just 4 hours a day. One day, while at work, she collapsed. She died due to exhaustion. Her business was also shut down after that.

Sugandhan read all this. And he asked the rich man, “These are real stories. And I feel sorry for these people. But why did you show them to me?”

The rich man replied, “Because all three are connected to me. The man in the first story — he is my father. The boy in the second — he is my brother. The woman in the third — she is my mother.

My father lost money because of losing patience. My brother lost money as he didn’t believe in hard work. My mother lost her money — and even her life — because she sacrificed her health for money.

If they had acted differently, I might have had a peaceful childhood. I wouldn’t have had to struggle emotionally. But I learned three secrets from their lives.”

The First Secret:
No matter how much money you have, you must be patient in financial matters.
You should make emotionally strong decisions.
Wealth stays only with those who understand emotional finance.

The Second Secret:
Luck is just temporary. Talent and work matter a lot.
Wealth stays only with those who believe in hard work and talent instead of luck.

The Third Secret:
You must take care of your health to earn more and sustain your wealth too.
Wealth stays only with those who take care of their health.

“I learned these three lessons from their lives, and those lessons are the reason for my success — not luck,” said the CEO.

At that moment, Sugandhan understood the great story behind success. Until then, he had hated rich people. But on that day, he returned home with a valuable gift — a gift of lessons. Lessons on how to truly become rich.

So dear friends who are listening to this story now, please remember the three lessons the CEO shared in this story:

Number 1: Wealth stays only with those who understand emotional finance.
Number 2: Wealth stays only with those who believe in hard work and talent instead of luck.
Number 3: Wealth stays only with those who take care of their health.

I hope you will remember this and lead a successful life.
